Netflix has secured the streaming rights in the UK and Ireland for Lilyhammer, the mobster comedy drama starring Sopranos actor Steven Van Zandt.
The VoD service already offers the 8 x 45-minute series in the US, Canada and Latin America.
It will be available to UK subscribers after first being shown on BBC4, which picked up the rights from distributor SevenOne International in February.
Lilyhammer centres on Frank Tagliano (Zandt), a New York gangster who is sent to Norway by the FBI after testifying against the mob.
The drama, which broke ratings records for Norwegian broadcaster NRK when it debuted in January, is part of Netflix’s original programming strategy.
The series is produced by Norway’s Rubicon. Netflix will co-produce the second season.
