New UK distribution outfit New Wave Films has acquired Helen, the debut feature from Christine Molloy and Joe Lawlor.
Screen International criticAllan Hunter called the film 'hypnotic' and said 'Molloy and Lawlor are talents to watch.'
The film, which had its world premiere in Edinburgh, is about a student who is hired to play a missing girl in a police reconstruction and is drawn to aspects of the girl's life.
The company previously brought another EIFF selection, Gideon Koppel's Welsh documentary Sleep Furiously.
New Wave is the distribution company launched by Artificial Eye veterans Robert Beeson and Pam Engel.
