New York Film Critics Circle chairman Armond White announced the group will hold its annual vote on December 14.
The Circle will recognise its honourees at an awards banquet on January 11, 2020, at Strata in New York’s Flatiron District.
Several events have been arranged to celebrate the group’s 75th anniversary, among them a reception at the Museum Of Modern Art and a panel discussion on film criticism at the Hamptons International Film Festival.
“Because our role as film critics is under attack as never before, from downsizing and competition from amateur media, it is important to acknowledge the New York Film Critics Circle as the country’s oldest and most prestigious film critics’ organisation,” White said.
