The longtime filmmaker has been hired as head of production at the CineCoup Film Accelerator.

Marks’ first task will be to produce Wolfcop, the first greenlit feature from the Canadian pilot of the CineCoup Film Accelerator, set to go into production this autumn.

His CineCoup debut will take place at The Fantasia Networking Event co-hosted by CineCoup and Telefilm at Montreal’s Fantasia International Film Festival on Jul 26.

Marks co-founded Modern Imageworks Design and before that he founded English-language comic books publisher Vortex Comics.

His producer credits include A Dark Truth starring Andy Garcia, Eva Longoria and Forest Whitaker, Compulsion starring Heather Graham and Carrie-Anne Moss and Casino Jack with Kevin Spacey.

“It’s great to be filling out the CineCoup executive team with an industry veteran of this calibre who understands the importance of innovation,” said CineCoup founder and CEO J Joly.

“I think Cinecoup is easily the most exciting development for independent feature films in Canada today,” said Marks.
