EXCLUSIVE: Ealing Metro International has secured a UK deal with distributor Entertainment One for upcoming Falklands War film Destroyer, starring Paul Bettany and Matthew Goode.
The film, directed by Tom Shankland, is being produced by Crab Apple Pictures’ Angus Lamont and Warp Film’s Robin Gutch. Shooting is scheduled for summer 2013.
The UK deal was negotiated and agreed by Natalie Brenner for Ealing Metro International and Jo Sweby for eOne.
As previously reported, Ealing Metro pre-sold Destroyer to Transmission (Australia/New Zealand); Prime Pictures (Middle East); Lusomundo (Portugal); and Cinesky (airline).
Further offers are understood to be in negotiation in other key territories, which are expected to be concluded shortly.
The film is based on the memoirs of Captain Hart Dyke and director Shankland has also written the screenplay.
It story centres on a young, maverick captain (Bettany) and their crew as they make their suicidal last stand in the final hours of the Falklands War.
