The 44th Film Fest Gent (October 10-20) in Belgium has announced 12 titles for its official competition, which includes two international premieres.
János Szász’s The Butcher, The Whore And The One Eyed Man and Sahim Omar Kalifa’s Zagros will receive their world debuts at the festival. The rest of the slate includes Yorgos Lanthimos’s Cannes competition title The Killing Of A Sacred Deer and upcoming Venice premiere Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri.
The festival’s artistic director Patrick Duynslaegher commented: “The international competition will showcase the latest work of established arthouse directors such as János Szász, Luca Guadagnino, Yorgos Lanthimos, Joachim Trier but mainly focuses on young, upcoming or undiscovered talent.”
