UK-based 101 Films International has taken worldwide rights (excluding North America, UK, Australia and New Zealand) to Nick Simon’s comedy Untitled Horror Movie, and is launching sales at this week’s Pre-Cannes Screenings (June 21-25).
The film is about six actors who, with their TV show on the brink of cancellation, decide to film their own horror movie, unintentionally summoning a violent spirit.
UK distribution company (Yet) Another Distribution Company handled a VoD release for the film in the UK and US last week.
Untitled Horror Movie was shot remotely during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020, with the cast using their own mobile devices for filming.
It is co-written by Simon and Luke Baines. Producers are Baines, Simon, Marina Stabile and Bronwyn Cornelius of the US’ Bronwyn Cornelius Productions.
Baines also stars in the film, alongside Darren Barnet, Tim Granaderos, Claire Holt, Katherine McNamara, Emmy Raver-Lampman, Kal Penn, Aisha Tayler, Kevin Daniels, Lesly Kahn and Sohm Kapila.
101 Films International has also optimised the film for non-fungible tokens (NFTs) – unique digital art from the film that viewers can purchase and trade.
