UK-based sales and distribution firm 101 Films International has acquired world sales rights excluding the US for Christmas feature Santa Bootcamp starring West Side Story’s Rita Moreno.
101 will launch sales on the film at the ongoing Toronto International Film Festival. The completed film is scheduled for delivery by the end of October this year. It is set to air as a Liftetime film in the US during the 2022 holiday season.
Santa Bootcamp follows an event planner who is sent to a festive bootcamp, where she meets a loveable drill sergeant who helps her rediscover the magic of Christmas. Alongside Moreno as the drill sergeant, further cast includes Emily Kinney, Patrick Cassidy, Marissa Jaret Winokur, Justin Gaston and John Schuck.
The film is directed by Melissa Joan Hart from a script by Michael J. Murray. Paula Hart produces for her US firm Hartbreak Films and executive produces alongside Melissa Joan Hart, Irene Dreayer and Gina Rugolo Judd.
The film is co-financed by 101 Films International’s parent company Amcomri Entertainment. Robert Price, CEO of Amcomri Entertainment, described the company’s projected slate as “highly accessible feature films which we know will have strong appeal.”
Andy Lyon, CEO of 101 Films International, described Santa Bootcamp as “a feel-good, uplifting film, which will travel well internationally.”
