European Film Promotion (EFP) deals with increased demand for marketing support at Asia’s film & TV market
A total of 30 films from 14 European countries will be marketed at Hong Kong’s Filmart this month with the help of Film Sales Support (FSS).
Titles include Baltasar Kormakur’s The Deep and Calin Peter Netzer’s Child’s Pose, which won the Golden Bear in Berlin last month.
It marks an increase of seven films, compared to 2012, indicating the rising demand from sales agents to market European films to Asia.
Cash incentives for marketing, totalling $105,000 (€81,000) have been reserved by European Film Promotion (EFP) for 20 different European sales agents.
The EFP booth at Filmart will accommodate three more sales companies than last year, totalling 17 firms from Denmark, Germany, Italy, Poland, the Slovak Republic, Spain, Sweden, and the UK.
Newcomers at the booth include Polan’s AP Mañana, German sales outfits Global Screen and Sola Media, Sweden’s The Yellow Affair, and uConnect from the UK.
With 700 exhibitors and 6,000 visitors expected to attend from March 18-21, Filmart expects an increase of around 8% compared to last year.
