The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences and ABC have set the 95th Oscars ceremony for March 12, 2023.
According to the 2022 season timeline announced on Friday (May 13) the Academy will announce the nominations on January 24, 2023. The shortlists will come out on December 21 and the eligibility period ends on December 31 of this year.
The general entry categories submission deadline is November 15. Nominations voting runs January 12-17, 2023, and final voting runs March 2-7, 2023.
The ceremony date is edging back to its more familiar slot in early March following the pandemic disruption. This year’s ceremony took place on March 27 when Coda took home the main prize, although the evening was overshadowed by the notorious Will Smith slap.
