Grindstone Entertainment Group has acquired North American rights to Eric Bross’ Cannes market title Affairs Of State starring Adrian Grenier and David Corenswet.
13 films will commence international sales in Cannes next month. The cast includes Thora Birch, David James Elliott, Grace Victoria Cox, and Mimi Rogers. The film will receive a limited theatrical debut as part of a multi-platform on-demand release on June 15.
Affairs Of State follows a Washington D.C. aide on a quest to power who will stop at nothing to get involved in a senator’s White House campaign. Tom Cudworth wrote the screenplay and the producer is Stephen Israel.
“Affairs Of State is a taut political thriller with some wild twists and turns,” Ryan Black, vice-president of acquisitions at Grindstone, said. “With an incredibly timely story and a great ensemble cast, we are excited to be releasing the film.”
“The film really has something to say about the dysfunction in modern politics,” Israel said.
“I was truly excited to work with actors of such calibre,” Bross added. “David is a true discovery, and Mimi Rogers and Adrian Grenier in particular take on roles unlike anything I’ve seen from them before – they both deliver truly brave and outstanding performances.”
Black with Ben Weiss and Derek Kigongo of Paradigm brokered the deal on behalf of the filmmaker.
