Aldamisa International has acquired director George Tillman’s The Inevitable Defeat of Mister and Pete, set for its world premiere at next month’s Sundance festival, for international sales.

With newcomers Skylan Brooks and Ethan Dizon playing the title characters, the film’s cast includes Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson, Jordin Sparks, Anthony Mackie, Jeffrey Wright and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agabaje. Alicia Keys will be providing the score as well as executive producing.

The film tells the story of 14-year-old Mister and nine-year-old Pete, two boys who learn the true meaning of friendship when they are forced to band together to survive.

Jana Edelbaum and Rachel Cohen of iDeal Partners are producing, along with Robert Teitel of State Street Pictures. The film is being represented for the US by CAA.

The deal was brokered by Aldamisa’s president of international sales and acquisitions, Nadine de Barros.
