Amazon Studios has acquired worldwide rights to Skydance Media’s sci-fi The Tomorrow War and will debut the Chris Pratt vehicle on Prime Video on July 2.
Chris McKay directed the story about a high school teacher enlisted to fight in a war against aliens that takes place 30 years in the future.
Teaming up with a scientist (Yvonne Strahovski) and his estranged father (J.K. Simmons), the man embarks on a quest to rewrite Earth’s fate. Zach Dean wrote the screenplay.
Skydance CEO David Ellison produces with Dana Goldberg, Don Granger, Jules Daly, David Goyer, and Adam Kolbrenner. Executive producers are Rob Cowan, Pratt, Brian Oliver, and Bradley J. Fischer.
The Tomorrow War is from Amazon Studios, Skydance, and Paramount Pictures in association with New Republic Pictures.
Pratt recently wrapped production on Jurassic World: Dominion, set for release in June 2022.
