Mira

AN Media has reported a strong response to its AFM action thriller Mira with multiple territory sales led by the US, Germany, Australia and South Korea in the latest example of the longer deal-making tail at markets.

Germany-based Capelight Pictures has acquired rights for the US, Germany and Australia, while Korea Screen will distribute in South Korea and Cine Y Video in Latin America. AN Media is continuing talks for other territories.

Dmitry Kiselev (Spacewalker) directs Mira, which centres on Lera, the 15-year-old daughter of an astronaut, Arabov, who left many years ago on a mission to the titular orbital space station.

When a deadly meteor shower hits Earth Lera must save her family and her entire city from disaster with the help of Arabov, who guides her remotely from space via her phone and satellite surveillance.

Veronika Ustimova and Anatoliy Belyy star in the project, which is currently in post-production where Main Road Post (Sputnik, Attraction, Warriors Of The Future) handle special effects.

Len Blavatnik (Hacksaw Ridge) and Ruben Dishdishyan (T-34) serve as producers on the Russian action thriller from Mars Media Entertainment and Amedia Production (A Dog Named Palma, T-34).

AN Media’s current slate includes the fantasy film Woland starring August Diehl (Inglorious Bastards, A Hidden Life) based on Mikhail Bulgakov’s novel The Master And Margarita. The project is in post and is being produced by Mars Media Entertainment, Amedia Production and Profit.
