André Rieu returns to UK cinemas

André Rieu’s 10th Anniversary 2014 Maastricht Concert will be screened on 350 cinemas across the UK & Ireland on July 19.

Rieu’s 2013 Maastricht Concert broke UK box office records with a £448,786 opening, the highest opening weekend gross for an artist’s music concert released into cinemas. It grossed over £1.5m worldwide.

The 10th anniversary concert will be shown on over 1,000 cinema screens in 35 countries worldwide, and will be hosted by British television presenter Charlotte Hawkins who will interview Rieu directly after the performance.

Rieu commented: “My 10th Anniversary hometown concert is very dear to my heart and I wish everyone could be here to help us celebrate.  However, if you can’t join us in Maastricht, I hope I can touch your heart by bringing this special evening to you, on the big screen in your local cinema.”
