Kris Thykier’s UK production outfit Archery Pictures has picked up the film rights to Sarah Underwood’s debut novel Lies We Sing To The Sea and is adapting it with writer Ripley Parker.
Lies We Sing To The Sea is billed as a coming-of-age drama set in ancient Greece, inspired by the myth of Penelope’s hanged maids in the cursed kingdom of Ithaca.
The novel was published by Farshore in the UK and HarperCollins Children’s Books in the US.
Parker’s credits include creator and writer of upcoming Netflix series Everything Now.
Archery Pictures was founded by Thykier in 2014, with feature credits including Operation Mincemeat.
