EXCLUSIVE: Philippe Bober’s Coproduction Office has secured further buyers for Austrian auteur Jessica Hausner’s morbid “romantic comedy” Amour Fou, which screened in Un Certain Regard at the Cannes Film Festival last week.
Leading UK art house distributor Arrow has now taken the film, based loosely on the suicide of poet Henrich von Kleist in 1811. French outfit Jour2Fête has also bought Amour Fou.
Feelgood has come in for Greece, Cirko for Hungary, Filmarti for Turkey and Must Käsi for Estonia, Latvia & Lithuania. These follow on from the deals announced during Cannes for Austria (Stadtkino), Germany (Neue Visionen), Sweden (Folkets Bio) and Benelux (Lumiere).
The distributors in the the co-production territories are Stadtkino (Austria) and Amour Fou Luxembourg.
Deals in South Korea, Poland and Spain are expected to be confirmed shortly.
