JJ Abrams’ Bad Robot Productions has extended its first-look deal at paramount through July 2018.
Christopher McQuarrie is currently shooting Mission: Impossible V for Bad Robot, which Skydance Productions co-finances with Paramount.
Tom Cruise reprises his role in the action thriller and the studio has set a July 31 release date.
Bad Robot is in post on thriller The Cellar starring Mary Elizabeth Winstead and John Goodman and is in pre-production on the next Star Trek feature that Justin Lin will shoot this summer for a July 2016 release.
Bad Robot and Paramount’s first-look partnership began in 2006. Their most recent hit was Star Trek Into Darkness in 2013.
