Bafta chief executive Amanda Berry will step down earlier than planned in June this year.
She was previously set to leave the role in the Autumn of 2023, but will take up a new position this summer as CEO of The Royal Foundation, the charitable vehicle for The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Prince William has been Bafta president since 2010.
Bafta chief operating officer Kevin Price will step up as interim CEO in June and has agreed to stay on until a new CEO is in place. He was previously set to leave Bafta in September 2022.
The recruitment process to find a replacement CEO is underway.
Berry has been Bafta’s CEO for 23 years.
Announcing the news to members, Bafta chair Krishnendu Majumdar said: “Amanda and Kevin restructured the senior team last year putting in place a strong and experienced executive team who will now work with Kevin, myself and the Board to ensure a smooth transition process across the whole organisation.”
