Filming has commenced on BBC America series Killing Eve, starring Sandra Oh and former Screen Star of Tomorrow Jodie Comer.
The thriller is written by Fleabag’s Phoebe Waller-Bridge and is based on the Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings.
Killing Eve is filming on locations including Paris, Tuscany, Berlin and London and will debut on BBC America in 2018.
It’s also been announced that Fiona Shaw (Harry Potter, True Blood), David Haig (Four Weddings And A Funeral, Penny Dreadful), and Kim Bodnia (The Bridge) have joined the cast.
Previously announced cast includes Darren Boyd, Sean Delaney, Kirby Howell-Baptiste and Owen McDonnell.
Killing Eve is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd. for BBC America with Waller-Bridge serving as showrunner and executive producer. Sally Woodward Gentle and Lee Morris also executive produce with Colin Wratten serving as producer.
The plot sees Comer play a psychopathic assassin, with Oh’s security services operative tasked with hunting her down
Phoebe Waller-Bridge said: “I’m hugely excited to have started filming Killing Eve. It’s looking fantastic and our cast, led by the indomitable Sandra and Jodie, are to die for!”
Oh’s previous roles include Grey’s Anatomy and Sideways. Comer has appeared in The White Princess, Lady Chatterley’s Lover and Doctor Foster. She was named a Screen International Star of Tomorrow in 2016.
