Flora Dias and Juruna Mallon’s Berlinale Forum title The Intrusion has secured international sales representation with MoreThan Films, ahead of the film’s world premiere next Monday, February 20.
The film follows a member of ground staff at Brazil’s biggest airport as she searches for her indigenous roots beneath the runway.
It is a second feature for Brazilian duo Dias and Mallon, after 2013’s The Sun Against My Eyes.
The Intrusion participated in last month’s International Film Festival Rotterdam (IFFR) Pro industry platform as a work-in-progress in the new Dark Room strand.
MoreThan has also acquired international sales rights to Edgardo Dieleke and Daniel Casabes’ Southern Storm. The thriller about a veteran private detective on the trail of an experimental choreographer had its world premiere last month in IFFR’s Big Screen Competition.
Founded in 2021, MoreThan is a sales agency and consultancy run by Emma Caviezel, Lidia Damatto and Queralt Pons Serra. The trio hail from Berlin, Sao Paulo and Barcelona; the company operates on what it describes as a ‘collaborative model’, working internationally with no set base.
The 73rd Berlin Film Festival gets underway this Thursday, February 16, and runs until Sunday, February 26.
