Beta reveals busy Berlin slate, including Oh Boy, Turkish for Beginners and Bernd Eichinger doc Der Bernd.
Beta Cinema has unveiled its slate for the Berlin International Film Festival - one of its biggest at a market at date.
The titles include German box office success Turkish for Beginners, festival hit Oh Boy!, romantic-comedy Freshly Squeezed and Bernd Eichinger documentary Der Bernd.
Karlovy Vary competition entry Oh Boy!, directed by first-timer Jan Ole Gerster, paints an ironic portrait of a young man and the city he lives in: Berlin. Tom Schilling, Justus von Dohnányi and Michael Gwisdek star in the drama that proved a local box office and festival hit.
Marc Rothemund’s The Girl with Nine Wigs, a bitter-sweet comedy about a young woman’s struggle for survival, is based on the autobiographical bestseller by Sophie van der Stap.
Freshly Squeezed centres on a career girl struggles to get a grip on her love-life. Diana Amft stars with Christine Hartmann, Tom Wlaschiha, Alexander Beyer and Jule Ronstedt.
German-Norwegian political thriller Two Lives stars Liv Ullmann and Juliane Köhler in the story of a former GDR spy who rebuilds her life in Norway under a false identity.
The Constantin Film documentary Der Bernd pays homage to one of the most successful German producers, Bernd Eichinger. The film is produced by Constantin executive chairman Martin Moszkowicz.
Beta announced the addition of competition entry Child’s Pose, a Romanian family drama, onto its slate earlier this week.
Also on the slate will be family entertainment sequels Kokowaah II, The Famous Five II and The Adventures of Huck Finn.
