Next month’s BFI London Film Festival (LFF) has added Luca Guadagnino’s Bones And All starring Timothee Chalamet and Taylor Russell to its line-up; and has programmed a series of Screen Talks from international filmmakers and actors.
Bones And All will have its UK premiere as a Special Presentation at the festival, playing at the Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall. Guadagnino won the Silver Lion for best director with Russell winning the Marcello Mastroianni award for best young performer at Venice. MGM is releasing the film in the US, with Warner Bros handling international distribution, with a UK-Ireland release set for November 23
The festival has also added Bros, co-written by and co-starring US comic Billy Eichner, which will play in the ‘Love’ strand. Directed and co-written by Nicholas Stoller, the film debuted at Toronto International Film Festival earlier this month, and will be released by Universal in the UK and Ireland on October 28.
Jafar Panahi’s Venice 2022 Competition title No Bears, about two parallel love stories involving hidden obstacles, has also joined the LFF programme in the ‘Dare’ strand. Picturehouse Entertainment picked up the film last month; Iranian filmmaker Panahi has been under detention in Tehran since July, with a coalition of industry guests protesting on his behalf at the Venice premiere this month.
Screen Talks
Screen Talks, LFF’s public-facing series of discussions with leading industry talents, will feature talks with filmmakers Mia Hansen-Løve, Noah Baumbach and Alejandro Gonzalez Inarritu.
The Talks programme will also feature actors Bill Nighy, who appears in Oliver Hermanus’ Living; Janelle Monae, from festival closer Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery; and Aubrey Plaza, actor and producer from Emily The Criminal.
Further Screen Talks will be announced in the coming weeks.
