The British Film Institute (BFI) is delaying the publication of Screen Culture 2033, its new 10-year corporate roadmap and National Lottery funding strategy, until Friday September 23, after the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.
The launch had been scheduled for tomorrow, September 14.
The period of official mourning for the Queen has meant the cancellation of several film industry events including a pre-Emmys party hosted by Bafta in Los Angeles and the We Are UK Film reception at the Toronto International Film Festival, due to take place on September 12.
Queen Elizabeth’s funeral will take place on Monday September 19, which has been declared a bank (national) holiday. Unlike other bank holidays, BFI Southbank and BFI Imax in London are voluntarily closing all day, as are most other UK cinema chains.
