BritBox International has appointed former Hulu and CBS executive Robert Schildhouse EVP North America and general manager of its centralized marking operation.
As EVP and head of the streamer’s group marketing services, Schildhouse will spearhead growth in the US and Canada. He will be based in New York and reports to BritBox International CEO Reemah Sakaan.
His appointment comes after a year of global growth for the BBC Studios and ITV joint venture, which recently launched in Nordic markets to add to its operation in the US, Canada, Australia and South Africa.
He will lead business development, commercial relationships, programming and performance marketing for BritBox North America and will also oversee central marketing services, across Creative Studio, Media Buying, CRM & Customer Services led by Nada Arnot, BritBox International SVP marketing North America & group marketing services.
The streamer’s global commissioning and co-production slate of Original dramas and fan-favourites includes Stonehouse, Beyond Paradise, Three Little Birds, The Confessions Of Frannie Langton and Archie. BritBox North America also recently premiered the original series Sherwood, and Karen Pirie launches this week.
Schildhouse joined Hulu prior to its launch in 2008 and became the leader of Hulu’s content acquisition team. After that he joined CBS Global Distribution Group as SVP, digital licensing and distribution, eventually rising to become EVP, Business Development. He began his career at GE Capital.
