Sally Caplan is to relinquish her role as managing director of eOne Films International and will leave the company at the end of May.
eOne Films International evp Charlotte Mickie (acquisitions) and head of sales Charlotte Van Weede (sales) will assume Caplan’s responsibilities for an interim period following her departure.
Caplan joined the company in November 2011 to set up the sales division’s UK office. She worked closely with worldwide acquisitions head Lara Thompson and eOne Film territory business heads.
“Sally leaves us to focus on production and we wish her the best of luck,” said eOne COO and evp of the global film group Nelson Kuo-Lee. “We’re looking forward to forging more and more strategic relationships throughout Europe and worldwide and offering our distribution partners and core operating territories top independent films.”
The sales team’s recent roster has included Beasts Of The Southern Wild and Waste Land.
Upcoming titles include David Cronenberg’s Maps To The Stars, Atom Egoyan’s Queen Of The Night and The F Word, all of which saw activity in Cannes.
“I leave behind a great international team and thank them for all their support, hard work and inspiration,” said Caplan. “I wish them and everyone else at eOne success in this exciting time of expansion.”
Prior to eOne, Caplan served as head of the Premiere Fund at the UK Film Council for five years and worked on The King’s Speech, among others. She also held senior roles at Icon Film Distribution Momentum Pictures and Polygram International/ Universal Pictures.
