The initiative is aimed at promoting directors as part of the festival’s committment to supporting Ibero-American film.
Directors who are in the process of completing their first, second or third film are invited to participate in PuertoLab with their rough cuts. Fictional and documentary projects will be accepted, as long as the film’s main producer is based in an Ibero-American country and the film runs for at least 70 minutes.
Five films will be shortlisted and shown to members of the FICCI 55 jury, as well as international sales agents, distributors and festival programmers who are in a postion to help the projects through to completion.
The winner, announced on March 13, will receive a CINECOLOR prize, which will provide all post-production processes at any CINECOLOR Lab in Latin America.
