Cinedigm has hired Jeffrey Edell as Chief Financial Officer, effective immediately. Separately, RLJ Entertainment has appointed Mike Pears evp of content sales.

In addition to his CFO role, Edell will be a part of Cinedigm’s management committee.

Edell’s previous posts include CEO of Inferno Entertainment, CEO of Edell Ventures and president of DIC Entertainment.

“Having worked closely with [Edell] at DIC Entertainment while I was a director there, I know of his clear ability to create and manage a first-class financial effort and team at a public company,” said Cinedigm chairman and CEO Chris McGurk.

“Cinedigm is exceedingly well positioned to succeed in the quickly transforming entertainment distribution landscape and a growing organisation of this size and ambition will require an ever more sophisticated and effective financial organisation and cohesive system,” said Edell.

  • RLJ Entertainment new hire Mike Pears will lead sales for RLJE’s non-physical wholesale business, including digital, VOD and TV. For the past seven years he oversaw digital/VOD distribution as vp of digital sales at Cinedigm.
