Boutique outfit picks up UK rights to Sophie Lellouche’s debut.
Boutique distributor CinéFile has acquired all UK and Ireland rights to Sophie Lellouche’s first film Paris-Manhattan.
The romantic comedy follows a young woman whose choices in life and love are shaped by the philosophies of her favourite filmmaker Woody Allen, who makes a cameo in the film.
Marie-Christine Adam and Alice Taglioni Patrick Bruel are among the cast. Release is set for July 5.
CinéFile’s booker Allison Gardner negotiated the deal with SND.
Director Lellouche said of the film: “The idea came from Woody Allen himself actually, whose movies I love.
“One day I thought how wonderful it would be to be his friend, and it seemed like a good idea for a film to me. Use him to help my heroine.
“In fact, it’s the story of a child who has difficulties becoming an adult, just like me. And Woody Allen’s cinema shows everything that you can do or dare. It doesn’t forget to make you dream or laugh, while also being very smart.”
