David Webb has been appointed as European sales director for the group.
European Film Laboratory services company Cinelabs International has expanded into the UK with the acquisition of Bucks Media Services (BMS) in London.
BMS, which currently provides colour and black and white negative and print processing, will be rebranded as Cinelab London, adding to the company’s existing operations - Cinelab Romania and Cinelab Greece, which were acquired from Kodak in 2012.
Meanwhile, David Webb, formally director and general manager at Kodak, has been appointed as European sales director. Based in London, Webb will be responsible for driving sales strategy and volumes of the group.
The company said it would now focus on increasing capacity and developing film and digital dailies offerings and on-location services.
The operation will continue to support film, commercial and television clients as well as content owners who wish to preserve and restore their film and media archives.
“The addition of this operation is an essential stage in our European strategy. We can now provide a Europe-wide high quality, reliable film service,” said Cinelabs International CEO Rodrigo Ruiz-Tarazona of the acquisition.
Former BMS owner David Buck added: ‘I’m very proud of the business my team and I have built up over the years. The acquisition of BMS by Cinelabs will continue to develop and extend the services that we currently offer to the industry. This is welcome news for a community passionate about film who should have comfort that Cinelab will be there to service requirements for as long as there is demand.”
