Brazil’s film promotion body is Berlin-bound with two features – Reaching For The Moon and Hélio Oiticica – and short film The Package.
Reaching For The Moon by Bruno Barreto screens in Panorama, Cesar Oiticica Filho’s documentary Hélio Oiticica will play in Forum and Rafael Aidar’s short film The Package is part of Generation 14 Plus – Short Film and Teddyrolle sections.
Cinema do Brasil executives, partnering with Brazilian Trade and Investment Promotion Agency Apex-Brasil, will be in Berlin to offer the standard suite of services including screenings, networking opportunities and participation in the co-production market.
This year, Tambellini Filmes will present the project Campo Grande by Sandra Kogut, while BossaNova Films will take part in the Company Matching initiative.
Distributor Providence Films has been selected to take part in the Berlinale Talent Campus.
Cinema do Brasil will promote four market exhibitions and will launch the fifth Distribution Support Award offering $25,000 prizes to distributors or Brazilian cinema.
“The European Film Market takes place simultaneously with the Berlinale and is the ideal event to foster the trade of Brazilian films, as it gathers representatives from all sectors of the international film industry,” said Cinema do Brasil chairman André Sturm.
