Initiative aims to give graduates the opportunity to work in the field of high-end visual effects.

Digital effects company Cinesite has called for applications for its 2013 Inspire Internship Programme.

The initiative aims to give graduates from a variety of backgrounds the opportunity to work in the field of high-end visual effects. Cinesite is offering two placements in 2013, for visual effects and for programming. Last year’s technical effects placement has become this year’s programming placement in an effort to reach a wider pool of computer programming talent.

Both internships will run concurrently and will involve paid positions for a total of six weeks in summer 2013 at the London-based company. Previous winners of the Inspire Programme have worked on such Cinesite projects as Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides, John Carter and Skyfall.

Antony Hunt, managing director of Cinesite commented: “Inspire is now in its fourth successful year and we’ve been building on the programme to address areas where our industry is continuing to lack important skills. There are still many computer programmers out there who aren’t aware of our thriving industry and the opportunities there are to build a career in visual effects. We’ve spent the past year forging relationships with tutors at colleges and universities to help get the word out about the need for programmers in our exciting industry.”

Applications can be submitted online at http://www.cinesite.com/internships . The deadline for entries is 10 May 2013. Winners will be announced in June 2013.
