Comic-Con 2014 sparked 1.7m social media mentions as Warner Bros dominated the conversation, according to social media experts Way To Blue.
Zack Snyder’s sneak peek of footage from 2016 release Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice generated 248,960 mentions and 24,550 (10%) intent-to-view messages.
Meanwhile Marvel Studio’s Avengers: Age Of Ultron panel came in as the fifth most-talked about property behind the aforementioned Dawn of Justice and TV shows Game Of Thrones, Teen Wolf andThe Walking Dead.
Ultron produced 173,782 mentions and 22,648 (13%) messages expressing intent to view.
The other most talked-about films were August 1 release Guardians Of The Galaxy and The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies.
On the TV side Game Of Thrones ruled them all, producing 201,681 mentions and 25,554 (13%) intent-to-view messages.
Warner Bros was the most buzzed-about studio on 37% of the pie, followed by Marvel Studios on 15%. Warner Bros’ Wonder Woman was the top superhero.
Females only just edged it in terms of gender influence in discussion of the convention, which ran from July 23-27 in San Diego.
Approximately 53% of all social media engagement came from females. Shows like Teen Wolf, The Vampire Diaries and Once Upon a Time were all represented at the show.
