Appointment signals move into film for the media business consultancy.
Industry Media has appointed film and entertainment lawyer Sara Curran as its managing director, signalling a strategic move into movies for the James Grant Group-owned media business consultancy.
Curran has run her own media law firm for the last 11 years and will merge her business into Industry Media. The appointment takes effect immediately.
Nikki Collier, who was hired from Simons Muirhead & Burton last April, will join Curran on the board and will continue to work with her clients in children’s TV and animation.
Other members of the team include Craig Dickson, former head of legal and business affairs at Curtis Brown Group; Huw Walters specialising in international co-productions; and Seb Shorr and Carl Pandole who focus on scripted drama.
“Sara has represented leading film and television industry’s players, including major US studios, US, UK and Irish based producers, international distributors, structured and equity financiers as well as content creators,” said Neil Rodford, CEO of James Grant. “We are excited that she leads our expansion.”
Curran has worked in the film and television industry for 20 years. The most recent films she has represented include Sunshine on Leith and Le Week-end. Her television work includes the upcoming Fleming, starring Dominic Cooper, for Sky.
