Curzon Home Cinema’s On Demand service to be available through Amazon Fire TV at launch.
Curzon’s Film On Demand service is to be made available to users of Amazon’s Fire TV streaming device when it launches in the UK tomorrow (Oct 23).
The new player, created by Curzon Home Cinema and curated by Curzon’s cinema team, gives Fire TV viewers the opportunity to use their account to watch the latest cinema releases On Demand.
Films can then be viewed on Fire TV and other Curzon Home Cinema registered devices. Viewers only pay for the films they watch and are not charged an ongoing monthly subscription fee. Many films will be made available for streaming for as little as £1.
Titles to be made available include music biopic Jimi: All Is By My Side, The Dardenne Brothers’ Cannes title Two Days, One Night, and thriller Life of Crime, starring Jennifer Aniston, Tim Robbins and John Hawkes.
Amazon’s streaming device will cost £79 (£125). It was launched in the US in April gives users access to on-demand channels and film services such as Twitch and Netflix on their TV.
