Daniel Dale, Independent Entertainment’s former head of acquisitions and development, passed away last month at the age of 42.
Dale first joined Independent in 2005 in a junior role before being quickly promoted to work on all of the company’s development projects as well as acquisitions for the international side of the business.
In development and production, Dale worked on the films We Need To Talk About Kevin; Mr Nice; New Town Killers; The Sea and The Falling among many others.
Some of the titles he helped to acquire include London To Brighton; The Mark Of Cain; Hallam Foe; Exit Through The Giftshop; Starred Up; and What We Did On Our Holiday.
After leaving Independent in 2014, Dale went on to focus on his writing.
Independent Entertainment’s CEO Luc Roeg said: “I was deeply saddened to hear Daniel had passed away. We worked closely together for a number of years, and he was a much-loved member of the whole Independent Entertainment family. Daniel had a natural curiosity, a keen intellect, and a razor-sharp wit. He will be missed by everyone he touched but none more so than his loving wife Eve and his adoring mother, Margaret.”
Dale is survived by his wife Eve and mother Margaret.
