Ro*co Films has struck a deal with Dartmouth Films to release How To Survive A Plague in the UK. Sundance Selects previously released the Oscar-nominated documentary in the US.
David France directed the story of two coalitions – ACT UP and TAG (Treatment Action Group) – whose activism and innovation turned AIDS from a death sentence into a manageable condition.
“Dartmouth’s dedication to involving the community in the film’s UK rollout made them the ideal distributor for us,” said France.
“As we know from our experience releasing in North America, teams of non-profit partners, supporters, and stakeholders are instrumental in building a broad audience for the film and assuring its successful theatrical run.”
“How To Survive A Plague is that rare documentary film that has both a riveting narrative and a stunning cinematic edge,” said Ro*co Films founder Annie Roney.
“A UK theatrical was absolutely one of our key distribution goals for this film.”
