20th edition of the Polish festival, which runs Nov 24-Dec 1, to also hold Lynch retrospective.
Plus Camerimage, the international film festival of the art of cinematography, has announced that David Lynch will be the recipient of this year’s Lifetime Achievement Award for Directing.
Lynch will receive the award on Nov 24, the opening night of the festival’s 20th edition which runs until Dec 1, and will be in attendance for screenings in the festival’s special retrospective of his career.
“David is a living legend who paved his way into the pantheon of cinema, a filmmaker who never compromised his own artistic credo,” commented festival director Marek Żydowicz. “He is a dear friend of our festival and we are honoured to bestow him with the Lifetime Achievement Award.”
Previous recipients of the directing award include Andrzej Wajda and Alan Parker.
