EXCLUSIVE: Production has wrapped on Robert Duvall’s Wild Horses, which Voltage Pictures is selling internationally at the AFM.
Duvall stars in the Western alongside James Franco, Josh Hartnett, Luciana Duvall and Adriana Barraza.
Wild Horses is based on Duvall’s screenplay about the impact on a Texas rancher’s family when the Texas Rangers reopen an investigation into a missing person case.
Michael Mendelsohn of Patriot Pictures serves as producer alongside Rob Carliner and Duvall. Arnold Rifkin of Cheyenne Enterprises is executive producer.
“I had the distinct privilege and pleasure of working with some very talented actors on Wild Horses,” said Duvall, who previously directed The Apostle and Assassination Tango.
“It was very beneficial to have worked in Utah with these actors and wonderful crew. We could not have done the movie without the input from the Texas Rangers. Their expertise plus their natural acting abilities within the film made this a memorable experience.
“I hope the film finds a ready audience here and abroad.”
“Duvall is a prolific filmmaker, constant professional, a gentleman and a living cinema icon,” said Mendelsohn.
“Wild Horses is a brilliant and entertaining look at American family bonds and the true struggle between good vs evil… a wonderful Duvall crime masterpiece.”
