eOne is expanding its direct distribution network and has hired Benjamina Mirnik-Voges as managing director – Germany, effective mid-October.
Based in Munich, Mirnik-Voges will oversee day-to-day film operations in the territory for theatrical and transactional business and will work closely with Christian Fritzsche, who leads the licensing of filmed content in German-speaking territories.
Germany joins Canada, the UK, Australia/New Zealand, Spain, and Benelux as the territories where eOne distributes its content directly.
The new arrival joins from Universum Film, where she served as head of feature film acquisitions and co-production since 2007 and acquired Quentin Tarantino’s The Hateful Eight, Oliver Stone’s Snowden, and Garth Davis’ Lion, among others.
Prior to that, Mirnik-Voges held several roles in film finance before setting up her own production company in Germany.
Alex Hamilton, managing director – EMEA, film to whom Mirnik-Voges reports, hailed the new addition’s “outstanding reputation”, adding: “The addition of Germany will be a major boost to our distribution profile on a pan-European basis and will support our creative partnerships worldwide.”
The development followed a series of new content partnerships for eOne including the launch of Makeready with producer Brad Weston as well as a film and television output arrangement with Annapurna Pictures.
