The Event Cinema Association (ECA) will be holding an industry slate day in an attempt to increase the profile of the alternative content business.

The event will feature presentations from ECA members and non-members to exhibitors from the UK and abroad.

The Slate Day is set to take place on December 6, 2017 from 9am at Vue West End.

Behind the initiative is Johnny Carr, ECA board member and alternative content manager at Vue.

The day will act as an extension of the slate presentations which are hosted by studios and indie majors to show their upcoming projects to exhibitors.

Carr said: “Our association with the Event Cinema Association is part of a larger mission at Vue to grow the event cinema sector as we believe it to be an increasingly vital element of exhibition.

“We are delighted to be working with the ECA to help spread the word of all the great content out there for venues to see for themselves for the first time.”

Melissa Cogavin, managing director of the Event Cinema Association, added: “Back in June in Barcelona we tried a small version of this slate presentation and the feedback was nothing but positive, so we are really happy to be dedicating a whole morning to this concept with the help of our friends and fellow board members at Vue.

“We are really looking forward to welcoming the exhibition and distribution communities on December 6 and seeing some fabulous new projects hit our screens.”
