The Daniels’ sci-fi adventure beat a 10-strong field led by seven Oscar nominees to prevail in the Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures contest.

The PGA Awards have become a highly reliable bellwether of Oscars success with the winner, like CODA last year, going on to claim the best picture Academy Award on all but three occasions since 2009.
Oscar final voting runs March 2-7.
