Ceremony to take place before European premiere of The Impossible on Sept 27.
Ewan McGregor is set to receive the Donostia Award at the 60th San Sebastian International Film Festival, which runs Sept 21-29.
The award is a tribute to McGregor’s career and will be presented to him before the European premiere of The Impossible, which McGregor stars in opposite Naomi Watts, at the Kursaal Auditorium on Sept 27.
Previous winners of the award, which was introduced in 1986, include Glenn Close, Sir Ian McKellen, Robert De Niro and Isabelle Huppert.
Produced by Telecinco Cinema and Apaches and distributed by Warner Bros, The Impossible is set for Spanish release on Oct 11, while McGregor’s next film Jack The Giant Killer, directed by Bryan Singer, will be out in March 2013.
