Norwegian distributor scores hat-trick of Competition titles.
Fidalgo has secured four key titles at the Cannes Film Festival for Norwegian distribution.
The titles include three Competition titles such as Abderrahmane Sissako’s Timbuktu, which ScreenDaily revealed earlier this week as part of a raft of deals by Le Pacte for the well-received drama.
Other Palme d’Or contenders secured by Fidalgo include Turkish director Nuri Bilge Ceylan’s three-hour drama Winter Sleep and Olivier Assayas’ Clouds of Sils Maria, starring Juliette Binoche, Kristen Stewart and Chloë Grace Moretz.
In addition, Fidalgo has picked up Céline Sciamma’s Girlhood (Bande de Filles), revolving around a girl gang in a tough Paris neighbourhood, which opened Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes last week.
With the exception of Sissoko, Fidalgo has released films by all these directors before and are negotiating on further Cannes titles.
