Norwegian distributor adds to Cannes haul with award-winning Competition and Directors’ Fortnight titles.
Fidalgo has concluded its Cannes acquisitions with Alice Rohrwacher’s Competition title The Wonders (Le Meraviglie); and Thomas Cailley’s Directors’ Fortnight feature Love At First Fight (Les Combattants).
The Norwegian distributor secured The Wonders from The Match Factory and Love At First Fight from Bac Films.
Rohrwacher’s coming-of-age drama won the Grand Prix at Cannes last month.
First-time feature director Cailley’s French drama won the Europa Cinema Label, the SACD Prize and the Art Cinema Award at the festival. The film is about a teenager who falls for a tough young woman who is fixated on preparing for a state of war.
Other Cannes titles acquired by Fidalgo include Clouds of Sils Maria, Girlhood, Timbuktu and Palme d’Or winner Winter Sleep.
