Vue Entertainment to bring box office hit back to theatres next week.
Vue Entertainment is to re-release Fifty Shades of Grey in the UK next week, ahead of its home entertainment release on June 22.
Selected sites will screen the erotic thriller on June 12/13 (Fri/Sat).
The film, based on the trilogy of novels by EL James, has taken more than $569m at the global box office since its release in February, making it the third highest grossing film of 2015 and the UK’s highest grossing 18-rated film.
At Vue’s UK sites, the film took close to £8m in box office sales, including advance sales of more than £1.5m.
It played for 10 consecutive weeks including 40 shows in one day at Birmingham Star City on opening day.
Sequel Fifty Shades Darker is set for release in February 2017 followed by Fifty Shades Freed in 2018. Both will see Jamie Dornan and Dakota Fanning reprise their roles as controlling businessman Christian Grey and impressionable student Anastasia Steele. Director Sam Taylor-Johnson will not return for the sequels.
