Focus sets US theatrical release for awards prospect ‘Promising Young Woman’

Focus Features has set a December 25 US Oscar-qualifying theatrical release for Promising Young Woman starring Carey Mulligan.

The revenge tale debuted in Sundance and centres on a woman who leads a double life and gets the chance to right a wrong after her life was derailed by a mysterious event.

Emerald Fennell directed and the cast includes Bo Burnham, Laverne Cox, Alison Brie, Connie Britton, Jennifer Coolidge, Max Greenfield, Christopher Mintz-Plasse, Chris Lowell, Sam Richardson, Molly Shannon, and Clancy Brown.

Fennell produced Promisng Young Woman with Margot Robbie, Tom Ackerley, and Josey McNamara for LuckyChap Entertainment, and Ben Browning and Ashley Fox for FilmNation Entertainment.
