Fox Networks Group Asia (FNGA) has launched its streaming service Fox+ in Hong Kong, both as a standalone app and on the Now TV pay-TV platform.
The service will stream Hollywood films such as Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, Logan and Beauty And The Beast, as well as Chinese movies including The Adventurers, Love Off The Cuff, 29+1 and award-winning Hong Kong drama Mad World. Chinese library titles include the Ip Man trilogy, SPL sequels and classics such as the A Better Tomorrow, Police Story and Once Upon A Time In China series.
TV content includes shows such as The Walking Dead, The Gifted, American Horror Story and Ray Donovan, which will be made available at the same time as their broadcast in the US.
Fox+ will also stream premium Chinese-language miniseries produced by FNGA, starting with five-part financial thriller Trading Floor, produced by Andy Lau’s Focus Television, and crime thriller series Stained, written and directed by Patrick Kong. Both shows will be broadcast in the first quarter of 2018.
Previously launched in the Philippines, Singapore and Taiwan, Fox+ is available in the Apple and Google Play stores and can be used across 10 devices. In Hong Kong, Now TV users can access the service through their existing subscription, while non-Now TV subscribers can sign up for a 30-day trial period, followed by subscription fees of $24 (HK$188) per month.
FNGA president Zubin Gandevia said: “Fox+ is the ultimate upgrade to any entertainment experience. You can now enjoy the best and the latest shows, movies and sports, often a full year or more before you see them anywhere else.”
Janice Lee, managing director of PCCW Media Group, said: “Now TV is pleased to further extend our long-established partnership with Fox Networks Group Asia to be the exclusive partner launching FOX+ in Hong Kong. As the largest pay-TV and a leading OTT service provider, Now TV continues to innovate and enrich our product offering to respond to customers’ needs.”
