Robert Paul Weston’s The Creature Department is set for release later this year.
Academy Award-winning special effects group Framestore has announced it will collaborate with Razorbill, an imprint of Penguin Young Readers Group, on a transmedia novel.
The Creature Department is written by award-winning author Robert Paul Weston, who has worked with Framestore since the project’s inception to create a series of visual assets that will be used across multiple platforms.
Among these will be a Creature Department app, which will animate the characters from the book, and a chance for fans of the book to speak directly with one of its creatures at New York’s Book Expo American and San Diego Comic Con.
Ben Schrank, president and publisher of Razorbill, commented: “Framestore is an astonishing special effects group that will lend their brilliance to a story written by one of our most gifted young writers, Robert Paul Weston. We cannot wait to see what they invent.”
The Creature Department follows Elliot and Leslie as they help the creatures of DENKI-3000 create a series of new inventions to save their factory.
