Rosalie Cimino has been named managing director and producer of Anonymous/Federation, the Paris-based joint venture between US management and production house Anonymous Content and rapidly expanding European independent studio Federation Studios.
Cimino is a former talent agent and partner at UBBA since 2010 after eight years at Intertalent alongside top French agent François Samuelson. She has managed the careers of several turned global stars including Matthias Schoenaerts, Mélanie Thierry, Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre, Albert Dupontel, Alexandra Lamy, Anouk Grinberg, Nadine Labaki and Veerle Baetens.
Cimino is currently working on the follow-up to Baetens’ feature directorial debut When It Melts, which premieres on Saturday in Sundance’s World Cinema Drama category.
“Federation and Anonymous Content have always put talent and creativity at the very core of their productions, just like I did as an agent. I’m thrilled to benefit from this unique energy in the current audiovisual landscape, and to be able to put all my energy and my ability to carry out ambitious projects, at the service of Anonymous Federation,” Cimino said in a statement on Thursday.
Cimino will officially step into her new role from January 30 and will work closely with Federation’s Pascal Breton, Lionel Uzan and Patrick Wachsberger, Anonymous Content’s Dawn Olmstead, David Levine and David Davoli
Launched in 2021, Anonymous/Federation aims to develop and produce premium film and television content in both fiction and documentary for local French and global audiences. Federation Studios is behind successful series such as The Bureau, In Treatment, Around The World In 80 Days and Bardot and Anonymous Content have produced hit films such as The Revenant, Spotlight, Stillwater and series including True Detective, 13 Reasons Why and Mr. Robot.
In addition to the Anonymous Federation joint venture, both parent companies continue to expand their global footprint.
Anonymous Content has launched joint ventures including AC Nordic, AC Brazil and Chapter One in the UK and Federation Studios now has arms in Paris, Los Angeles, Rome Madrid, London, Berlin, Cologne, Brussels and Tel Aviv.
Federation co-founder and managing director Uzan said the fusion with Anonymous gives the company “the ability to get even closer to the best French and international showrunners and filmmakers”.
Anonymous Content CEO Olmstead added that with Cimino at the helm, “I have no doubt we will create incredible compelling films and series that are authentic to local French audiences but also appeal to viewers on a global scale.”
